Chiddy Onyia
Partner and Founder
Chiddy Onyia is a seasoned healthcare entrepreneur, operator and senior legal executive. She is a 3X General Counsel with over 15 years of in-house and law firm experience advising high-growth startups and complex healthcare institutions. She has experience with early-late stage startups, health systems, medical devices, manufacturing, FDA, payors, physician groups, and health insurance companies. Her niche lies in strategic advisory to stakeholders, leadership, and market expansion. Known for her ability to translate legal strategy into business outcomes, Chiddy serves as a trusted partner to boards, founders, and executive teams navigating scale, risk, and transformation.
Ms. Onyia previously worked at GenCo Legal, providing General Counsel services for a wide variety of healthcare and technology companies. She also worked for Alma and Quartet Health, two late-stage, venture-backed digital health companies. At Quartet, Chiddy served as General Counsel and led all legal and commercial operations for the company's acquisition of Innovatel, a physician practice group, in 2021. She managed the deal structure, diligence, and negotiation process from end to end. She also spearheaded Quartet's Series D fundraising round of $60 million in the same year. At Alma, a VC-backed, high-growth health tech company with a $7 million valuation, she led national payer negotiations with Optum, UnitedHealth, and Cigna. As the company's first General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, she was instrumental in leading and architecting the legal, strategy, and regulatory aspects of a $130 million Series D raise in 2021. In both companies, Chiddy personally built out the legal, compliance, and HR functions—scaling teams, creating operational infrastructure, and implementing systems that supported expansion into all 50 states.
Chiddy also has extensive experience negotiating and managing complex SaaS, data licensing, and technology agreements, including B2B enterprise partnerships, data monetization contracts, and platform integrations. Her deep understanding of digital health product structure, IP, privacy, and platform risk makes her particularly adept at supporting innovative, fast-moving businesses at scale.
Earlier in her career, Chiddy served as commercial counsel for two of New York's largest healthcare systems—NYU Langone Medical Center and NYC Health + Hospitals—where she advised on enterprise contracting, compliance, and strategic transactions across clinical operations, procurement, and population health. At NYU Langone, she was the commercial lead in charge of the build and procurement for Kimmel Pavilion, which was a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar project. Chiddy also spearheaded the acquisition of Lutheran Medical Center (now known as NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn) and a full-asset merger with NYU Winthrop Hospital (now known as NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island). These mergers involved investments of over $500 million, a significant expansion of NYU Langone's healthcare network, and a complex integration of multiple facilities into a unified healthcare system.
Chiddy holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. She received a Certificate in Leadership from Cornell and a Certificate in Project Management from NYU Langone. She completed an Executive MBA at INSEAD, Europe's top-ranked business school, with a focus on Strategy, Finance, and Operations. She is working to further expand her global leadership, commercial, and investment capabilities.
Chiddy is a women’s advocate, mentor and builder. She is passionate about Women's Empowerment and Gender Equality, specifically in areas of Education, Healthcare, Financial Literacy and Leadership.
